Incessant Ramblings

So this is my first time blogging.  I am going to start writing on here as much as I can, due to the fact that I have a lot to talk about.  So without further ado, I present to you my blog:

So the first thing that I want to talk about is, how everyone on the East Coast is upset that the media blew the whole Hurricane Irene thing up.  How the media "sensationalized" the whole event, and it turned out that it wasn't as bad as they predicted.  How can you be mad?  Would you rather that the hurricane came through and totally destroyed everything you have?  Why not be angry about something that you should care about, such as the cost of food and other sustenance here in the United States.  I don't know about you, but I am quite a bit pissed off about the cost of several items at the grocery store.  Well, not several items, but more like all the items.  Do we really need to be charging $5.00 for milk?  Seriously, are the cows being fed caviar and truffles?  Also, what is up with gas?  Just drill in Alaska already, so we don't have to pay 3.64 a gallon, (as of today).  We went to Iraq to liberate the country, we are in charge over there, so let's tell them how much they are gonna charge for a barrel of oil.  Also as far as OPEC goes, they are a cartel, it is in their name for God's sake, when the drug cartels send tons of drugs into countries around the world, the world gets pissed.  When OPEC sends barrels of oil into countries around the world, and says "Hey you are gonna pay what we tell you to pay," that is the same thing.  We need to bust up OPEC.  There needs to be worldwide anti-trust laws just like there are in the United States.  Or better idea, we just go over to their countries and nuke the crap out of them and turn them all into glass parking lots for us to park our cars in.  I would say that we need to all stop driving our cars, so that demand goes down, and then the supply goes up, but that is insane.  For one thing no one is going to stop driving.  And another thing, we don't need to drive less.  What needs to happen is that we need to tell OPEC to turn up production, not ask them politely to do so.  We are the dominant super power in the world, not them.  Or on the converse, we start drilling for oil from the reserves we have here, and then maybe we can become part of OPEC and then we can give ourselves discounts on oil like they do to their countries, or we can charge the rest of the world extravagant prices for oil also.  Goodbye deficit.  And on the subject of the deficit, I can solve that problem right now.  I got two words for you, "Marijuana Legalization."  Legalize it, tax the hell out of it, and make it like alcohol, you gotta be 21 to be in possession of it, or use it.  If you get pulled over and you're high, then you go to jail, just like alcohol.  If you come to work high, then you get in trouble at your job.  Let adults make decisions about their own lives, just because some old farts a long time ago decided that they were gonna make marijuana illegal, in order to protect their interests in the timber industry, (if you don't know what I am talking about, just Google "William Randolph Hearst and Marijuana"), that doesn't mean that we need to keep it out of the hands of responsible adults.  Now before you get all high and mighty and start saying things like, "He must be a pothead."  Let me tell you something, I have never used drugs, nor do I have the desire to.  Alcohol is one of the biggest blights on the world today, look at how many people are injured or killed in alcohol related traffic accidents every day.  When was the last time someone got injured or killed in a marijuana related traffic accident?  Now that I have gotten that out of the way,  I want to turn your attention to another problem we are facing currently as a nation, unequal pay.  Why is it that some CEO, who just happens to have a college education makes more in an hour each day, than the average worker at the company that he/she is in charge of does in a year?  Because of corporate greed, that is why.  Yes, I believe in Capitalism, but isn't this going to an extreme?  I mean I have worked at the same job for over 10 years, I have some secondary education done too, but when they raised minimum wage from $5.15 to $7.15 a few years back, where was my extra $2.00 an hour?  I think if they are going to raise the base wage that they have to pay some non-experienced person, then they should definitely raise the wage that they are paying those of us that have the experience.  Do corporate executives really need 16 million dollar jets, nope, do they need $42,000 Rolex watches, nope.  Take a pay cut, and share the wealth people.  I guess that is about all I have for now, feel free to post comments, be they negative or positive about this blog, I will be happy to hear them.  I will also be happy to debate anyone about any of these topics.
